why families love it

A second language, the gentle way.

No flashcards, no drills, no pressure. Just stories at the pace of a cuddle — and words that quietly take root in two languages.

Two languages, no confusion

Research is clear: little ones take to two languages with ease. Little Firsts shows both side by side, so each new word arrives twice — and stays.

Built for little hands & ears

Audio-first and made for pre-readers. Tap any word to hear it, see its picture, and meet its partner-language twin. A warm voice reads every page aloud.

  • Flip the whole story to the other language in a tap
  • An always-there narration button for hands-free reading

first words

A first library of words.

Every word your child meets in a story is kept in a growing picture dictionary — one gentle image per idea, the same in every language, with the label and a warm recording for each tongue. Tap to hear the other language anytime.

  • One picture per idea — words change, the image stays
  • Grows as they read — their own word collection
  • Non-Latin scripts come with romanization & audio

six languages, one library

Pick a pair. Switch any time.

Choose a base language and a target language — English is the hub, but any pairing works. Languages are marked by position and a small lantern dot, never by flags.

English Русский Russian Español Français Deutsch 中文 pīnyīn · audio

Mandarin shows Simplified characters with pinyin and an audio-first reading, so a non-reader (and a parent who doesn't read the script) can follow along by ear.

good to know

Questions, gently answered.

Won't two languages at once confuse my child?

No. Decades of research are clear: young children can learn two (or more) languages without confusion or delay. Mixing words in one sentence is a normal, healthy stage — not a mistake. Bilingual children reach the same milestones, and counting both languages together they often know more words, not fewer.

What ages is Little Firsts for?

Ages 3 to 6. It's audio-first and built for pre-readers — a parent reads along, the narration button reads aloud, and tapping a word plays it, so children absorb words by ear and picture long before they can decode letters.

Which languages does it support?

Six at launch: English, Russian, Spanish, French, German, and Mandarin Chinese (Simplified, with pinyin and audio for the characters). You pick a base language and a target language; any pairing works and you can switch in a tap.

Do I need to speak the second language myself?

Not at all. The warm narration reads every page aloud in both languages, and tapping any word plays its sound. Many parents learn right alongside their child — that's part of the fun.

Is it really private — no ads, no tracking?

Yes. Little Firsts is fully offline and private. There's no account, no ads, and no analytics that profile your child. Everything lives on the device, and it's built to meet children's-privacy standards (COPPA, GDPR-K) by collecting nothing in the first place.

How much does it cost?

You can start for free. One simple subscription — monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime unlock — opens every story, with no per-book purchases. Payments go through the App Store or Google Play.
