Editorial policy.
Countly Journal is written and maintained by the Countly Team. We publish practical explanations about day counting, tax residency, immigration rules, and travel limits so readers can find the official rule and understand what to check next.
Scope and responsibility
We explain public rules and show how day-counting concepts work. We are a software team, not a law, tax, accounting, immigration, financial, or investment firm. We do not provide professional advice and we do not assess a reader’s individual circumstances.
Sources
For factual claims about laws, thresholds, deadlines, and government processes, we prefer primary sources in this order:
- legislation, treaties, and official regulations;
- tax, immigration, and border authorities;
- government departments, embassies, and consulates;
- official guidance and technical documentation.
Secondary sources may help explain context, but they should not be the only support for a material legal, tax, or immigration claim. Articles link to the specific official pages used wherever possible.
How articles are prepared
The Countly Team defines the question, checks the current official material, separates rules from examples, and edits the article for clarity. Every published article receives a visible publication date. Where an article includes a Sources checked section, it records the sources and date used for that editorial review. We do not claim professional review when none took place.
Translations and automation
We may use software-assisted research, drafting, and translation. Automation does not replace source verification. Translations must preserve qualifications, dates, citations, and the meaning of the source article. The platform adds the approved disclaimer in each language. A translated page is updated when a substantive correction changes its meaning.
Updates and corrections
Rules change. We revise articles after meaningful changes to their content, sources, or underlying rules and propagate material corrections to translations where applicable. The public publication date remains stable; template changes and routine database writes are not presented as editorial updates.
